Racing Kings Shield Winner:
December's Racing Kings Shield was the perfect Shield to end the year, because little did we know that all of the top players were going to compete. Players like Peanutbutter12345, BlunderPandaZz, IMakeManyMistakes, james126, seth_7777777, bijiy, Natso, QueenEatingDragon, CyberShredder, and even RoyalManiac all competed. This was the most competitive Shield I have ever seen. In the end, seth_7777777 won the Shield again, with a 2465 performance over 99 games. Congratulations Seth on your 4th Shield Victory!

News

The Racing Kings World Championships (RKWC) and the North America Racing Kings Championship (NARKC) have both ended. The winners were r2300 and seth_777, respectively. But we can't just leave it at that, we must explore their stories.

RKWC

r2300 played strongly in the first two rounds of the tournament, beating Somebody457 flawlessly, and then defeating 2020 RKWC Runner-Up sriramprasad 55-15. In round three of the tournament, however, he faced a dreadful defeat against seth_777, losing 55-5, sending him into the loser's bracket. This put him up against Francis920, whom he beat 55-35. After that match, he had to face the soon-to-be Atomic world champion Natso, and after a close battle, he eventually won, 6-4. This put him in the top four with QueenEatingDragon (QED), BlunderPandaZz, and CyberShredder. In the playoffs, QED defeated all three of his opponents, while r2300 only had a win and a draw, tying him in second place with BlunderPandazz. In the finals, though, r2300 was chosen to play. r2300 found himself facing the highest rated player in the tournament in the final round, the player who had totaled him 6-0 in the Playoffs. You can find out what happened next. You can see the final bracket here.

NARKC

After North America lost in the RKWC, players seth_777 and james126 decided to hold the first ever North America Racing Kings Championships, a tournament where players from the North American regions fight to become the best in the continent. It was a small tournament with only ten players, but two players shined the most. Those players were seth_777 and bijiy. seth easily defeated his first opponent, The_Cricketer, but then immediately faced an opponent who would almost put him into the loser's bracket: james126. It was a close battle, but seth immerged victorious, winning 55-45. After that, seth fought the inevitable battle against bijiy. Surprisingly though, he won very easily with a solid score of 6-2. This sent bijiy into the loser's bracket, but he wasn't there for long because he defeated james126 55-45, making it to the final round, again, against seth_777. After seth beat bijiy 6-2 earlier, you would expect the win would be easy for him, but that wasn't the case. It was actually extremely close. bijiy won the first round against seth, meaning that whichever player won the next match, would be crowned the best in all of North America. But after a fierce battle, seth_777 took the crown, beating bijiy by a slim margin of 10. You can view the final bracket here.

General News

RoyalManiac, a three time RKWC winner and current record holder for the highest rating from a legitimate player (2605) has returned to rated play after a long break. He currently sports a solid >2400 rating, and is constantly jumping between 2400 and 2500. The second Racing Kings Olympiad has been announced! The last Olympiad was held in 2022. The Olympiad is a team tournament with three players on each team! Which trio will become the best? The rules can be read at the sign up forum, and the deadline for sign up is January 4th, 2025, so hurry up and register your team! (I will not be playing this year.)

Player of the Month

After careful consideration, the winner of the Player of the Month award is seth_777 for winning both the NARKC and one of most if not THE competitive Shield in Racing Kings history. Second place goes to r2300 for winning the RKWC, and third place goes to last month's winner playanotherone for winning 12 Daily Racing Kings arenas.

Entertainer

I half think that this game was intentional.

I think I speak for us all when I say we had a ton of fun playing in this tournament. Read the chat and be entertained!

More than Racing Kings

I would like to end the year of 2024 with something a little bit more than Racing Kings. bijiy is a player who is well known in Racing Kings, but also known outside of Racing Kings as well. He plays every variant, and is good at them all, especially Horde, where he is a top player. Something he is not as well known in, however, is Ultra Bullet, as he only has a 1900-2000 rating. bijiy taught me to never judge a player by his/her rating. You'll see what I mean.

In this game, bijiy berserked a berserk, leaving him with only 3.7 seconds against a 1900 rated player, and won by a timeout with a dominating position. And this wasn't even the only time he did something like this against SaTHsArAdIssAnaYaKEE.

If you found this blog interesting and want to see more, join this team or check my profile at the end of next month! Additionally, please let me know in the comments what you want in January! Have a great year everyone! Thank you for reading my blogs and for giving me your support this past year. I fully intend to keep writing them in the future!
