The belated conclusion of the series, and an opportunity to learn chess for charity!

Charity Chess Camp

Before we get started on today's puzzles, I'd like to briefly announce an opportunity for ambitious beginner/intermediate players looking for a summer chess training program.

Together with other nationally ranked players, I'm teaching an ONLINE summer chess camp where 100% of the entry fee goes to a 501(c)(3) charitable organization helping to support chess in Washington schools.

I'm not getting paid a single cent for this - I'm doing this because I wanted to support my local community and help introduce kids to the wonderful game of chess.

The summer camp involves almost 30 total hours of training and lessons during weekends, weekly puzzles and feedback, daily support, and bonus resources and training plans that you get to keep forever!

The fee is $9/hr (not including daily support, which is completely free) for the the full camp, but we are more than happy to give discounts up to 100% of the entry fee for players facing financial need. We want this camp to be fully accessible regardless of your family income! If you're not sure whether you qualify, just send me a private message - we are very generous with financial aid! Even if you don't qualify for financial aid, we also offer prizes for the most dedicated and improved students.

If you're not sure about committing for the whole summer, feel free to sign up for just a few sessions - we offer a 100% refund policy if you're not happy!

Introduction

In a case of spectacularly poor timing, I went on vacation right before the last day of the series, and I'm back now. But, well, better late then never, right?

As a reminder, for each puzzle, you can score points using the following system:

You have 3 strikes per puzzle. Get as far in the puzzle as you can before making 3 mistakes, and then check the solution. Add up your points up to the last move you solved. Pay attention to bonus points - today's puzzles have a special way to score bonus points, by getting MOVES right on your first try. Think carefully!

For example, if you make it through 2 moves that each give 2 points, and then make your 3rd mistake, then you'll get 4 total points for the puzzle.

After you've solved all 3 puzzles, add up all your points together. Then, check the section at the end of this post to see how you did!
