Mastering Exchanges. Womens Grand Prix (5.Correct Recapture)
This is a serie to help us to understand better the pieces exchanges with games of the Womens Grand Prix in Nicosia. The fifth chapter is about recapture with the correct piece or pawn before the tradeIn the previous chapters we talk about how to trade well the pieces and in this i going to show us examples of recaptures, can change in the position retake the piece with one pawn with anotehr or with a piece.
A Old Idea
To start this chapter i have the obligation to start with one the most famous and discussing recaptures of all time, after Nd5 in the maroczy structure and Nxd5 should white take with piece , with the e pawn or with the c pawn?
Each position requires one recapture but today i going to show a a great plan who implements Mariya but who was more famous for a well-known game between Ivanchuk and Anand in Buenos Aires 1996.
Muzychuk, A vs Dzagnidze, N
The origins. Ivanchuk vs Anand Buenos Aires 1994
Anna made a great game but nothing original, 99% that she previously knows the Ivanchuk game.
More GM copying the idea, Grischuk and my coach
Anna wasnt the first in copy the Ivanchuk idea, there are many masters victories with this plan, here i give a us a Grischuk victory over Guseinov and another great win with the same idea of Renier Vazquez who is my trainer for 6 years.
hx or fx ?
Another typical dilemma its if take with the f pawn on g3 and g6 or with the h pawn. One move bring a pawn to the center and the other open the f file for the castle rook, lets see how Nana choose to play.
Double pawns or not
Now we are going to watch a example in which Badelka have the option to recapture with the queen or with the b pawn doubling pawns on c
Interesting french
And to end this chapter i want to end with a full game who have various examples of interesting recaptures.
I select 5 typical recaptures who happen in many games.
The Nd5 in the Maroczy maybe is the most controversial recapture of all time.
The idea of bxc6 how plays badelka is too common with the both colours to break c5 and have an extra pawn on c.
The cxd3 happen in the french and in the sicilian to much but in this case i prefer the Jiner move Qxd3.
And another most typical choice between two pawns hx or fx, in the first case we see that is better take pawns to the center than open the rook and in the second example again hx is the good move but this time to open the h rook and attack the king.
I hope that you learn with this chapter, the recapture is a important theme in the study of the pieces trades theme. I give us the other 5 chapters about how to trade well the pieces , if you enjoy or learn with this post please give me a like to reach more people and help to the global chess education, LFG.
