Speilmann - Tarrasch, San Sebastian, 1912
The Other Lasker's NotesHeld at a seaside resort in San Sebastián, Spain, the International Chess Tournament of the Gran Casino invited only masters who had performed well in strong tournaments, creating one of the strongest chess tournaments ever. In round seventeen, Rudolf Spielmann and Siegbert Tarrasch played the Ruy Lopez.
The prodigy Rudolf Spielmann's aggressive play, frequently featuring gambits, earned him the nickname "The Master of Attack." Nicknamed Praeceptor Germaniae, meaning "the Teacher of Germany," Dr. Siegbert Tarrasch heavily influenced chess theory through his writings.
Edward Lasker annotated the game in 1915.
