It's Championship Season... for 3 Check!?

Tis the season for 3 check players!

Lichess Three Check World Championship (TCWC) 24'-25':

TCWC season typically occurs from August (registration) to late February (or this year, early March).

Right now we are awaiting the grand finals matchup between FM Vasilios Kasioumis @UnholyCrusade and challenger GM Miroslav Miljković @MiroMiljkovic to be scheduled shortly.

3 Check Championship on Chess com

As a part of the 2025 Chess.com Community Championships they have put up a $2500 prize pool for their event!

With 8 qualifiers this past Thursday and an 8 person knockout bracket the following day, this tournament was absolutely action packed.

Playing in 2 of the qualifiers myself, I finished 22nd and 24th out of roughly 1,000 entries.

That was good for about 97th percentile (i.e. better than 97% of total players)!

Streaming 11 total hours doing live commentary and playing, the action seemed almost nonstop for two days. That was a good two days!

The results spoke for themselves as two of the lichess 3 check leaderboard favorites FM Matfey Rogov @statham and FM Vasilios Kasioumis @unholycrusade battled for first place in a stunning finish. Big thanks guest host @daslurpyninja for joining me on the live broadcast for this one!
