100 games experiment (Part 2/5)
The next 20 annotated games.Game 21
Notes: In Modern with f4 if White meets Qb6 with Be3, e5 is good. Watch out with playing Nc6 to have a good response for d5 (like Nb4 to harass the d3 bishop). If the knight gets to b3, pushing a5 is great, weak b4 square for c6 knight is more meaningful than b5. The queen belongs on b6 most likely.
Game 22
I hung my queen in last game, and now my opponent did.
Notes: In Tate Alekhine with a5, Qxd6 play d4 and meet c5 with d5–Nc3–Nb5
Game 23
Game 24
This Nc6 idea worked out pretty well, but I don't think it would work against 4.Nf3, as it doesn't attack d4, so I wouldn't get the same initiative.
Game 25
d5 counters f4!
Notes: In Accelerated Austrian Attack it's better to take on d4 and allow Nc3, than get taken on c5 and get hit with Be3, where the dark-squared bishop isn't dead.
Game 26
Game 27
Game 28
Notes: In Taimanov g3 White plays for e5–Qg4, Black plays against that. I decided to put my analysis on the line into a separate file:
Game 29
Notes: In Hammer Caro play c3 as soon as possible, even before castling!
Game 30
Notes: In Exchange Grunfeld with e3 take on c3 and break with both e5 and c5*.*
Game 31
Ughhh... do I have to say the obvious? 20+ winstreaks on both blitz an rapid with most games having 0 mistakes.
Game 32
If White wants to take the centre and play g3 against the Modern, it's better to throw in Nc3 stopping d5. Considering against Taimanov and a6 Closed Sicilian I like the setups with g3, where White plays both e4 and d4, I might try this against the Pirc aswell with 1.e4 d6 2.d4 Nf6 3.Nc3 g6 4.g3!?. Against the Modern I'm not sure about quick Nc6-e5.
Game 33
Very sloppy game, but a win is a win:D
Game 34
I still find it crazy, that castling long is a losing mistake. Also 8.Qg3, one of main ideas of these d4–Qxd4 lines.
Game 35
Ye, I'm never ever playing this again.
Game 36
Game 37
Notes: In Beefeater with Black pawns on e5 d6 c5 and White on e4 d5 c4 c3 we don't play for material advantage on the queenside, but we focus on restricting the dark–squared bishop with h6.
Game 38
Game 39
This loss stings a bit, as I got the the perfect Anti-London up a tempo, but I got greedy with f5–f4 and threw the game.
Notes: Embarassing I have to write something I already knew, but In London first play Qe7–Nh6 then f5.
Game 40
This is how the opening should be played:
Summary
I don't even want to calculate how much elo I lost. But on the bright side I can definitely see the impact of the games already, I remember so much more than just from moving the pieces with the engine. If you are interested, here's Part 1 and some other stuff: White games, Black games, Openings.
I'm very busy at the moment, playing in serious tournaments every weekend and spending a lot of time on openings because of that and on top of that I'm also focusing on a mini side project, so the games aren't my top priority, but I hope to not take 2 months this time:) Bye!
