Fortun£ Friday$ October Arena Prize Winners

ChessTournamentLichess
The winners revealed for the October arena of our Fortun£ Friday$ Series here on lichess.

We can't thank you enough for the growing success of the internationally renowned Fortun£ Friday$ Series. The £1,100 October edition of the series drew representation from 38 countries and featured some of the world's best chess players, including 22 GMs, 27 IMs, 19 FMs, 11 CMs, and one very rare LM. Several streamers also broadcast the event, bringing it even greater attention.

The event was won by the legendary GM Dmitry Andreikin, who is currently ranked 22nd in the world. His long list of achievements includes being ranked 18th in the world in 2015, becoming the World Junior Chess Champion in 2010, and winning the Russian Chess Championship twice—in 2012 and 2018. He has also competed in the Candidates Tournament, the second most prestigious event after the World Chess Championships. It was a fantastic honour for Coatsi Chess to have such a talented chess genius participate in our Fortun£ Friday$ Series.

Close on his heels was GM Sergei Zhigalko, another chess genius who holds the number-one ranking in the world in several chess variants on lichess and has defeated World Chess Champion Magnus Carlsen in numerous games.

The rest of the top finishers were closely matched, with many ending on the same points. Tiebreak scores determined the final rankings.

Following anti-cheating checks conducted by our world-leading FIDE international arbiter, we are pleased to announce the prize winners as mentioned below.
