**1) In the opening, fight for the center. Although hypermodernists described the possibility of doing this with pieces only, it is better to combine both pawns and pieces in most cases.**

**2) Don't trade your most active pieces without any need if you don't gain another advantage from doing this. The game Fischer,R - Petrosian,T (1-0) is a good example of this.**

**3) Don't play on the side where you are weaker unless necessary.**
