6th THINK Correspondence Championships
Come and join one of the Premier Correspondence Championships on LichessWe are now into the 6th edition of the THINK correspondence championships - a great chance for anyone that loves Correspondence to pit their wits in a league format against players of a similar level.
And if you're new to correspondence, you're welcome too - we'd love to have you come along and try it out.
Here are the details (and they're a little different from before if you've played with us so do read carefully).
- 3-day correspondence games (you must move every 3 days or you'll lose!)
- Last entries 5pm GMT Tuesday 4th March
- Everyone is welcome whether a current THINK chess member or new to the team
- Entries will be grouped into leagues of around 10-15 people (depending on the number of entres) which will run on the Challonge website
- Leagues will be decided based on the following criteria:
- League position in the previous Correspondence Champs
- Position in the Think Blitz correspondence champs
- Reliability of players who play all their games in any past tournaments
- General reliability of players playing in other tournaments
- Correspondence rating
- Other ratings (with longer time controls prioritised)
- Everyone plays everyone once
- All matches to begin by 2pm 9th March (any that have not started will be deemed a draw or the person who has not accepted a challenge to have lost)
- Either player can start the match off
- Results will be self reported on Challonge by one player (the winner is reponsible if there is a decisive result). Any results not reported within 3 days of the game ending may be recorded as a draw so don't forget!
- Any disputes, talk to me. My decision on the outcome is final.
- Normal Lichess rules of correspondence apply. e.g. no engine use, lichess database use is allowed, premoves allowed etc
