My First Game On @lichess
I have come a long way since my first game on lichess. These are some valuable lessons I learnt, I hope these tips are helpful!Click to view the game!
1. d5-
Pawn d5 was a blunder that resulted in white gaining a pawn. e5 would have been an ideal move.
2. qxd5-
Developing the queen in the early stages of the game is not recommended. Knight f6 was a safer option, any other moves here would have resulted in another loss for black.
3. f5-
Pawn f5 was a wasted move, developing either one of the Knights would have been a much better alternative.
4. nd7-
Knight d7 was yet another blunder as it allowed the opponent to move Knight c7, a fork. This fork allowed white to take my rook, the queen and the rooks are the most valuable pieces in a game alongside the king, and must be defended. Knight a6 would have been a great move to combat the attack.
5. e5-
Pawn e5 was a wasted move and could have been used to develop the knight or the bishop.
6. Kd8-
King d8 was a forced move, and the second time my rook fell victim to the fork. This cemented my defeat in the game.
7. Kd6-
King d6 was a blunder to which I lost my bishop. At this stage most players would resign, but being my first game, I wasn't enthusiastic about resigning.
We eventually see the promotion of the pawn and checkmate. If you saw any possibilities, feel free to mention them in the forum! See you next time!
