The Daily Blindfold - Day 1: Mixed Malts

Today’s inaugural game was one where everything was really under control from early on in the opening. My opponent played the Scotch in what I thought was a slightly unusual way, and soon found themselves in a difficult position.

That said, I made two major errors which, in the end, didn’t cost me the win, but easily could have done. Mistakenly believing that the pawn ending must be winning, I swapped off the last pair of pieces and with that gave away the lion’s share of my advantage. However, YesYesYesNo blundered on the very next move and I managed to convert the win fairly easily.
