Chess: Tactics V.S Strategy
Hello. Larry here. I have coached some kids, being a kid myself. One of my friends got 2357 puzzle rating under my coaching!Larry here,
Strategy is thinking long term. For example:
- trading bishop for knight to double your opponent's pawns
- trading a passive minor piece for a active minor
- trading the clamp if your playing hypermodern
- building up for a pawn storm
Tactics think short term, and are easier to see.
- fork
- pin
- skewer
- discovered attack
- zugzwang
- combined tactics
That is all for now.
