My Favourite Openings
A Personal Top 10Well, since I’ve done my favourite chess players and my favourite chess books, I thought I might continue with the Top 10s and do my Favourite Chess Openings.
Not all sound, not all even good for the player playing them necessarily, but MY favourites!
In no particular order:
A school friend and I analysed this to death sans computers in the late 80s and early 90's. Crazy stuff.
Schoolboy stuff, not the best line actually, but fun to play!
I play the Alekhine and lick my lips when I get this as do most Alekhine players.
I was introduced to Be3/English attack against the Sicilian by a book by Nigel Short when I was in High School.
An old favourite from my high school years! Either a wild game or it fizzles out early.
Not much theory on this, do some browsing and research it, it's wacky, but effective against an unprepared opponent at short time limits
I played this for a few years in my twenties.
Something similar, yet different.
With an early Bf4 and played aggressively.
For those who prefer Knights over Bishops!
Have fun playing and enjoying these.
