Personal Thoughts on Study Making

1. Studies with no content/no new content are a problem (e.g. My last study, Please click on this etc.)

It's a problem because it causes studies with genuine effort to disappear from view. Which is sad for people who put in the effort. And for people who want to learn.

'Please like this' studies are not education.

Goodbye studies don't make sense. If you want to leave, then leave without spamming. No new content was added in these goodbye studies, just recycled chapters from previous studies.

Some people may say 'How can you say that about 'X''.

Demanding likes in exchange for returning to Lichess shows there's no valid reason to leave, and just encourages low effort studies. And having three simultaneous studies in the hot list with hundreds of likes is more than 99.9% of users will achieve.

The study page has descended into chaos. There are barely any educational studies left.

Such a finale would be more suited to a personal blog.

2. It causes a chain reaction where people make lower quality studies to get likes.

Likes should reflect quality and education, not a vehicle for popularity.

People are already now spamming to get likes.

It's time for this to stop.

And for the study page to go back to educational material.

I urge the people making these sorts of studies to please reconsider.

Hello. There are 4 sub-forums, of course you know... But when I watch Studies, I saw many studies that are not related to chess...

So, I think there should be 2 "sub-studies"

• Real Chess Studies: Studies that educate chess players to be better at chess.
• Off-Chess Topic Studies: Studies that are not related to chess, like the "off-chess topic" stories, or anything related to chess but lead to "off-chess topic" stories,...

That's my idea.
