EN PASSANT

What is it?
It is a special rule that allows a pawn to capture the opponent's pawn that has just moved two squares on its first move

How does it work?
The capturing pawn moves to the square that the enemy pawn passed over, as if the enemy pawn had advanced only one square

How many times can you do it?
Each pawn will only have two opportunities to en passant per player

Why was it invented?
En passant was invented to prevent many players from locking the chessboard with a lot of pawns

When was it invented?
In 1561 En passant was invented and has been the official rule since 1880
