A New Month, A New Chapter

The 64SQRS Online Team Battle Series (OTBS) is back with its August edition – and it started with fireworks. After July’s rollercoaster debut (where the Hummingbirds soared and Thruy Assassins were struck down by controversy), everyone knew August’s Bullet Arena would be explosive.
This time, six teams lined up, two substitutes allowed, and a roaring TwitterSpaces live audience following every move. With ₦30,000 on the line (₦18,000 for the winner, ₦12,000 for the runner-up), the stakes were higher than ever.

Preview: Freestyle (960) – The Chaos Begins

Next up is the Freestyle Arena (Chess960) on 23 August, 2025.
Freestyle is about creativity, unpredictability, and guts – no opening theory, no memorized lines, just raw chess instincts. Last month, Hummingbird’s Avante-Garde thrived in this format. But can Thruy carry their Bullet momentum into the land of chaos? Or will Peelers and Brutal rise to snatch the throne?
This time, the TwitterSpace kicks off the action live before the games even start – tune in to hear predictions, banter, and behind-the-scenes chatter before the first move is played.

Closing Notes

Bullet set the tone. Thruy are back with vengeance, the Hummingbirds are still flying high, and the chase pack is sharpening their talons. The road to the ₦67,000 August prize pool is only just beginning.
Next stop: Freestyle (960) – and it promises chaos, creativity, and maybe a few broken hearts.
