How to perform better when playing chess
Ever found yourself feeling very tired or unready when starting a game, and you don't perform well ? Then this is the blog for you !Here are some tips to enhance your thinking power during the game...
. Go out of the hall if possible time to time to wash your face regularly.
. Take a bottle of water or juice to the hall and drink a lot.
. Don't eat heavy meals before your game, and try to avoid even having a big dinner the night before.
. Don't eat sugary foods before the game, as, after some time this will make you tired.
. Try to avoid bringing sugary drinks or food to the game. However, if you really want to, take one and start drinking it after an HOUR or so, depending on your time control. When you do this the bad effects won't have time to take over you before you finish the game. But I recommend to only do this in the last round of the day so your fatigue doesn't slip into the next match.
. Have a good night's sleep the day before and try and take a quick nap in between each game.
.Stand up time to time and wander around the hall during your match, watching other people's games. When you do this it will allow you to come back to your game with a fresh mind.
.Solve a few chess tactics on the board or on a device before your game to wake your brain up and give it a quick workout before your match.
Take a few minutes to analyze your game after you finish so you don't make the same mistakes in the next round.
