Road to 2000 Fide

ChessOver the board
Hello everyone, I decided to invest my time better and set a goal I want to reach this year. I'm writing this blog, because Noel Studer mentioned in his blog that you should let everyone know about it, when you're setting a goal you really want to achieve.

First I want to thank @Manu_ChessMood who gave me this idea.

I currently have a Fide Rating of around 1950 and I'm from Europe. I want to reach 2000 and then I will set further goals. In order to increase my playing strength, I will have to do the following things:

Tactics and Calculation: I will solve the Woodpecker-method and solve daily calculation exercises from my trainer. Important is that the calculaton exercises are challenging and that I have to calculate focused for 15 min. I'll analyse first the most aggressive move and then I will analyse the checks, then the captures and then the threats.

Openings: My goal is to learn my opening repertoire by heart and understand the plans of the opening. This is the most time-consuming part. I mostly use Lichess Studies and then I play through the lines and memorize it. After I play some training games and then I analyze what I did wrong and when I didn't knew theory anymore, like Noel Studer explained in his blog about learning a opening.

Middlegame: I will solve some Prophylactic exercises. Also, I will use the 7Q-Method from Chessmood, that I can highly recommend.

Endgame: I'm currently studying the Silman Endgame book, that is well structured and I think it also helps to play some endgames against Stockfish.

Play Chess: I usually play a lot of Blitz Games (5+0) and analyze them after. But I think the most important thing is to play OTB-tournaments.
So I'll plan to play more games in the future.

Summary: I think the most important part is that I have to study my opening repertoire and improve my calculation. It's also meaningful to play a lot of games and analyze them after. I will work 1-2 hours daily with a training plan and I'm looking forward to improve in chess ;)
