A Walk in the Park

it's snowy , and there's no one outside due to winter. with a bag in my shoulder, i walked in a hurry towards the bench near the lake in the park , my favourite spot. wearing a green jacket and a black woollen hat, i sat down on the bench, took out my foldable chess board from the bag, and started setting up the board.
"Is the seat across you taken ?" i looked back hearing that , a woman in her twenties , wearing a white jacket and a black woollen hat .
" Aah, No it is not " i said as i was finishing up setting up the board.
she sat across from me . " are you waiting for someone?" she asked .
" Ooh No, just own my own ."
" i used to play chess before , now forget everything except how the pieces move . " she said.
" yeah , for me it's just a way of detoxifying myself from the digital prison" i replied.
" shall we play a game?" she asked . " yeah sure " .
she took white and opened with
1.d4
" ooh , you are a 1.d4 player..."
"I play whatever comes to my mind "
I replied with
2...Nf6
She nodded, then brought another piece out, slower this time, like she was checking her memory.
2.Nc3
“That’s a good move, right?” she asked.
“It can be,” I said, and answered with
2...e6.
her eyes travelled through all the pieces in the back rank of the board for a moment, then suddenly pushed her knight forward, deep into the centre.
3.Nd5
“That's aggressive,” i said.
She smiled at me and I took it with
3...exd5.
“Oh,” she laughed softly. “So that one’s gone.”
She then developed her bishop.
4.Bd2
I played
4...Bd6.
“You play very... well” she said.
“Not that much"
She brought another knight out.
5.Nf3
I castled without hesitation.
5...O-O
“I remember that move ” she said with a smile.
“It’s a habit.”
She leaned forward and moved again, more confidently now.
6.Ne5
“That feels right” she added.
“Maybe..” I said, stepping in with
6...Ne4.
7.Nxf7
She looked up at me, smiling. “Looks like i am attacking”
I paused, then answered with
7...Rxf7.
“Oh,” she said quietly. “That didn’t go as planned.”
she slid her rook sideways.
8.Rg1
she was kind of biting her nails. not knowing what to do .
“Are you making random moves?” I asked, bringing my queen out with
8...Qf6.
“Yes actually, i just forgot how to play” she replied, moving her other rook.
9.Rc1
“I think this is the end, Sorry” I said, and played
9...Qxf2#.
She looked down, then back up.
“Is that...?”
“Yes., Checkmate"
" i was expecting nothing more " she said with a disappointed face.
i smiled back .
" do you wanna take a walk with me ?" she asked nicely.
" uuh, sure .." we start walking through the side of that frozen lake , " you know, i feel some kind of calmness after the game " she said.
" that's what chess do , it slows down your mind " .
" maybe you can teach me chess, will you?" she asked out of nowhere.
i paused for a moment and said " okay"
" Fine , here is my number , just send me a Hai " she took a pen from her right pocket and wrote the number on my palm , as i was looking at her face .
" okay then, thanks for the game and this walk " she said as she walked away waving her hand at me .
" wait , you didn't tell me your name ..." i shouted after her .
" But you got my number ..." she turned back at me while walking away, with a lite laugh on her face ..
