Over the past few months, I've been working on a personal project: a chess training app for Android.

The idea came from my own study routine.

I often discover interesting opening lines, tactical ideas, or combinations in YouTube videos. I wanted a simple way to save them and later replay them against the app instead of just reading PGN files or watching the same video again.

The Android app is still in its early stages, so I decided to start with the screen that matters the most: the drill screen.
This is where players will spend most of their time.

A drill is an interactive lesson where you play through a prepared chess line, the app responds with the expected moves (including possible branching variations), and your progress is tracked as you practice.

Today I'm sharing the first complete prototype of that screen.

The visual design is mostly there, but I'm still working on the interaction details, lesson logic, etc.

I'd love to hear your first impressions.

Does the idea of turning your own saved chess lines into interactive drills sound useful to you?
