The Importance of Accurate Note Taking
get good at chess notationThe advice I received from multiple amazing chess players at the meetup I go to is "Review your games". Now this is all well and good but what if your handwriting sucks? Is just absolutely atrocious? I suppose the only thing I could do is get good.
Here's a game that makes me regret not having better handwriting
So creating the PGN file took forever as I spent copious amounts of time trying to master the art of reading my own handwriting. The reason the game only goes up to move 14 is because my note taking was just so bad I could not accurately figure out what I did. Even with the above game, I don't know if I captured everything correctly.
So far this is probably one of my favorite games I've played so far. I was black and I had a few good ideas going on but I also made a lot of mistakes (especially after move 14. My opponent also had really good ideas and was good at taking opportunities when he saw them.
