How to "Flag" Stockfish

Ever lost against the Fairy-Stockfish on Lichess? Now you can get your revenge! Using an unconventional loophole, you can now "win" against it - make it look like it lost on time.

STEP 1:
Start a new game with the Fairy-Stockfish (any level and time control is fine, but the longer the time control, the longer it will take) as WHITE. This is super important - or the trick won't work.

STEP 2:
Now, we've arrived at the starting position of the game. Play a move and wait for Stockfish to play theirs. This can be any move and it doesn't matter what move you make. Stockfish will now play their move - notice that it takes about 2 seconds to do this, but their time doesn't start going down yet because it's the first move.

STEP 3:
Repeat the process of:

a) when Stockfish makes their move, pressing the takeback quickly - basically, the time is now running but Stockfish still takes 2 seconds to make their first move. It's really important to make sure Stockfish makes their move before you do this - or the game aborts.

b) After pressing takeback, now with MINIMAL delay (don't get flagged by Stockfish instead of the other way round...) make your move quickly.

If you do this process, then Stockfish will slowly but surely run out of time. Just make sure you take less than 2 seconds on average to make your move - or you'll get flagged first.

Hopefully, you've now learnt to "flag" Stockfish! Unfortunately, this doesn't work when you play as Black. This is just a fun loophole I found while messing around on Lichess. I hope you enjoyed it!
