In this blog, I will comment on my quickest victories of this year 2023 with the Staunton Gambit (Dutch Defense, 1.d4 f5 2.e4!?). I have played it 11 times, with 10 victories and only 1 defeat, and 7 of those victories were in less than 20 moves! Afterwards, we will see if we can draw any conclusions.

As you can see, the games all ended very quickly due to several factors:
All of them were lost due to neglecting development, sometimes the advantage was overwhelming for the white pieces. One of the causes is wanting to maintain material advantage and, after f3, capturing on f3, wasting time and giving the white pieces an opportunity.
The weakness of the h5-e8 diagonal after h6 was crucial in some games, even leading to the fool's mate.
In almost all games, the king remained in the center, except in 2 games where it was lost shortly after castling due to inadequate defense (having limited development makes defense more difficult).
The one who performed the best was @nobodychess003, seeking quick castling, but 8... d6 put them in problems they couldn't solve.
My only lose this year could be another mini-game, but i failed in the opening and lost in 52 moves:
