So I joined the 90/30 group that runs opposite on ICC (awaiting the 45/45 league that is also ran by fhunfi). I get the white pieces and...my opp is 200+ELO higher than me. Lot more experienced than me as well. Oh boy.
After looking over their games, I knew what I wanted to play: the Jobaba-Rapport London. It wasn't in their game history, it works well with the KID with h pawn ideas, and it allows the minor pieces and such to get out quickly in a relaxed manner.

We start our game. No KID. I was admittedly mildly disappointed - I wanted to shove the h-pawn up the board!! :)
I realized that my opp was playing instantly after I moved. And the moves being seen did not make much sense to someone that plays the KID. Unknown to me, the game was about to shortly end. Black resigned instantly at move 15 after taking off his knight.
I was a bit befuddled at first, but I wonder if I caught my opponent out in an unexpected opponent, and combined with slow piece coordination, they didn't want to endure a long, protracted game of defending.
Anyway, a nice win. I was pretty happy about this. Time for more tactics work!
