Play the London System like Gata Kamsky!
Today, we are going to learn about the London System. A very simple opening to learn and doesn't require that much theory. Let's get straight into action!Hi guys! Today, we are going to learn the London System.
What is the London System? You start with d4, develop your bishop to f4, push your pawn up to e3, develop the knights to d2 and f3, push the pawn up to c3 and the other bishop goes to d3.
I also made a study all about the London System and you can check my profile to see it.
Playing against d5 setups:
As you can see, white wants to land a knight on e5 and attack with f4 and possibly rook lifting.
Playing against KID Setups:
I actually recommend deviating from the main line and playing a Barry Attack Setup.
Playing against QID Setups:
As you can see, you aim to play e4 and expand with e5.
Playing against Chigorin Setups:
Playing a normal London System is fine, but it is a bit too passive.
Playing against Dutch Defense:
You just wanna play g4 and attack 'em.
Playing against Benoni Setups:
As you can see, you can draw with the repetition, or you can play a3 and win the queen for a few pieces which is considered to be equal if both players play correctly.
These were all from my study on the London System. Let us now check some master games to implement the ideas into real games.
