90-Day Chess Improvement Plan for 1600-1800 FIDE Rated Players

For the last several years, I have worked with many chess players. One thing I noticed again and again is that most players want to improve but do not have a clear training structure.
They watch random YouTube videos, solve puzzles occasionally, study openings without direction, and play games without proper analysis.
After a few months, they feel stuck.
Even players rated 1600–1800 FIDE often face the same problem. They are strong enough to understand chess seriously, but they do not know exactly what to study each day.
That is why I decided to create something simple.

The Problem Most Chess Players Face

Improvement in chess is not only about studying more. It is about studying the right things in the right order.
Many players ask questions like:

  • How many puzzles should I solve?
  • How much time should I spend on analysis?
  • What should my daily training routine look like?

Most training advice online is very general. But serious players need something more structured and practical.
So I started working on a step-by-step training plan.

Why I Created This Plan

I feel that many players get lost in the process of studying chess. There are thousands of chess books and courses available, and most players simply do not know what to buy or where to start. As a result, they end up doing random things without a clear direction.
Not everyone has the time, and not everyone is able to attend regular chess classes. For those players, this plan can be very useful. Improvement and success are not guaranteed, but it will at least give you a clear path and structure for the next 90 days of your training.

A Small Experiment

I originally created this plan as a small experiment to see whether players would find it useful.
The response surprised me.
Within the first day of launching it, many players joined and the plan quickly became one of the best-selling products on my Gumroad page.
This showed me that many chess players are looking for simple and practical guidance rather than complicated theory.

Final Thoughts

Chess improvement is a long journey.
There is no magic shortcut.
But having a clear structure and training discipline can make the process much faster and more enjoyable.
If you follow a consistent routine for 90 days, you will almost certainly see improvements in your understanding, calculation, and overall confidence at the board.
That was the idea behind creating this plan.
