Children: chess and team sports

Over the boardOff topicChess
I am going to speak based on my own experience because I have been working as a chess teacher for six years.

Have you ever played chess? If you haven't, you should. I will tell you why but first I need to clarify that chess is a sport that requires mental and physical effort (If I have the chance, I will explain this better since I have heard so many times the phrase ́chess is only a game ́).

I teach chess to children from 6 to 18 years old. Obviously some of them are really into chess, and others don't like playing it so much. However, playing chess is good for all because it develops concentration, memory and creativity and they need those skills in their school daily life.

On the one hand, playing chess is quite important but on the other hand I consider that it isn't enough. Think about this: if you play chess you can talk with your partner but if you play a team sport like soccer or basketball, you must work hard as a team and you need to increase your communication skills; team sports helps you to socialize.

Therefore, I believe solo sports, chess in this case, and team sports, for example soccer, have different benefits but both have positive consequences on daily life.
