title: The move that made me join a chess club, finally.
description: When I was 12 or so I was at my neighbour's. He had a nice chess set with some position he was studying, saying he was playing in a club, and I remember thinking to myself that if I would've been younger i would've wanted to join a club too. But that I never would get any good, at my age.

But in my late 30s i started playing a lot on the internet. The turning point in my chess career was when I played an IM and found the right move in this position:

it's from this game

So I thought, why not finally join a chess club? And so I did, now I'm around 1900 FIDE, and I am enjoying my hobby, playing a standard game a week in my club tournaments, enjoying a drink and some chess afterwards in the local pub, and trying to teach my son (8) the little i know of this tremendous game. He is soon surpassing me in tactics.

I bumped into my neighbour at a competition, he's still playing. He's around 2000. Perhaps we will get to play some day, Stockholm isn't that big of a city.

Thank you, Lichess, for these first 10 years.
