The grandmaster triathlon of the Biel chess festival consists of classical, rapid and blitz - held in Bienne, Switzerland, between July 25th and August 4th. The prize fund is CHf 30,500.

Time control for classical is 100 minutes for the first 40 moves, then an additional 50 minutes for the next 20 moves, then 15 minutes for the rest of game, with a 30-second increment from move one.

Time control for rapid is 15 minutes for the whole game with a 5-second increment from move one.

Time control for blitz is 3 minutes for the whole game with a 2-second increment from move one.
