The Hou Yifan Challenge is the 4th of 5 events taking place from the 18th - 24th of September of The Julius Baer Challengers Chess Tour.

The event will feature 17 young players split in two teams, captained by Vladimir Kramnik and Judit Polgar. The players are competing in a 4 day round-robin tournament with rapid time format. The total amount of points per-player are combined to declare the winning team.

The winning team will progress to The World's Chess Championship held in Dubai, as well as compete for a prize fund of $100,000 USD. The winning player will earn $3,000 as well as a place on the first event on the 2022 Meltwater Champions Chess Tour.

Rapid: Time control is 10 minutes for the whole game with a 5-second increment from move one.
