Magnus Carlsen Invitational, the 4th event on the Meltwater Champions Chess Tour and the 2nd Major, consists, of 2 stages. During the preliminary stage 16 players play against each other in a round-robin tournament. The top 8 qualify to the knockout stage which consists of 2-day matches.
The time control is 15 minutes for all moves, with a 10-second increment per move from move 1.
