2nd place at the Icelandic Open (2025), NSW Open (2026), Sydney International Open (2026), and Sahel International Open (2026)

Teaching experience

I coach club players rated 1500 to 2100 who understand chess but keep losing games they should win. Usually the problem is one fixable habit, such as skipped calculation or an opening that leaves them guessing by move 12. I find it in the first session and build the plan around it.

Every student gets:

A 90 minute session: game review, one targeted lesson, and calculation or endgame training as needed
A written summary after every session: what we found, three key ideas, and your homework
Homework between sessions
Your own opening repertoire, built in a Lichess study and expanded as your games show new problems
Message support on weekdays, with a reply within 24 to 48 hours

To start, message me your rating and your goal.

Other experiences

I speak Ukrainian, Russian, English, and Icelandic, and I coach in all four. I also compete regularly, so what I teach is what I use at the board.

Best skills

Opening preparation is my specialty. I have worked with ChessBase for more than 4 years and analyse theory daily with Stockfish and Leela Zero. I use the engines to check my ideas, not to replace them. You get a repertoire that fits your style, with the reasoning behind each line, so you understand your positions and don’t just memorize moves.

Teaching methodology

Every lesson is built around your own games. I find the pattern behind your losses, explain it in plain language, and give you homework that targets it. You leave each session with a written plan. If you want a specific topic, such as a certain opening, endgames, or calculation, tell me and we will make it part of the plan.!
