My name is Nikola Nestorović (born 1989) from Belgrade, Serbia, and I have been playing chess for more than 20 years. During that time, I managed to accomplish most of my playing career goals. The most important achievement is that I became a Grandmaster at the end of 2015, and in 2018 I was officially certified as a FIDE Chess Trainer, reaching my highest FIDE rating of 2517.
As I was growing up, I realized that I truly enjoy teaching, so I decided to pursue it as my profession.

About me
Playing experience
Becoming a Grandmaster in 2016 was the proudest moment of my chess career — a dream I had been chasing for years finally came true. One of my most memorable performances came during the chess league in Sarajevo, where I secured my second Grandmaster norm with a blistering performance rating of 2770. I didn’t even need the full event — the norm was in the bag after just six rounds!

If I had to choose the result dearest to my heart, it would be my second-place finish in the 2019 Championship of Serbia, played in my hometown of Belgrade. Competing against the country’s best and standing on the podium was a moment I’ll never forget.

Over the years, I’ve had the privilege of representing clubs all across Europe — from Hungary, Austria, and Germany to Montenegro, Bosnia, and, of course, Serbia. Playing in the prestigious German Bundesliga for SK Augsburg was another career highlight, especially the game where I held Black to a draw against the world-class GM Richard Rapport.

Teaching experience
From the many talented players I’ve worked with, one of the brightest is Josiah Stearman (born 2003) — currently an International Master and a future Grandmaster in the making, with a FIDE rating of 2435.
I’ve also had the privilege of working with European Champion Aleksandar Indjić during the Serbian Championship — the very tournament where he claimed the title of national champion of Serbia!

Teaching methodology
If you’re ready to start improving your chess, feel free to contact me on Lichess or by email at nestorovik@yahoo.com. I use Zoom (with screen-sharing) for lessons, and before each session, I ask my students to send me their PGN game files so I can tailor the program specifically to their needs.
