About me
CM Toluwanimi is a 24 year old chess master, ranked among the top players in Nigeria and widely known for his exceptional endgame skills and his work in developing talented young players.
Playing experience
I have been playing chess professionally for over 14 years. I have participated in several international and continental tournaments, and I earned my Candidate Master title after surpassing a 2200 FIDE classical rating.
Teaching experience
I’ve spent the past few years coaching players across different levels, from beginners to more competitive players. I’ve also worked with students from different age groups, with my youngest being 5 and my oldest 62.
My focus is always on helping students improve in a practical way working on areas like endgames, tactics, positional understanding, and reviewing their games together.
I try to keep my coaching simple and tailored to each student. Everyone learns differently, so I take time to understand their strengths, weaknesses, and goals, then build a training approach that works best for them.
As an active player myself, I also bring real tournament experience into my lessons, helping students not just learn ideas, but understand how to actually apply them in their own games.
