Notching pretty much, other than maybe coaching and a badge that I'M SMART.
What you have to do.
Grind for hours,solve so many tactics, analize endgames, analize games, e.c.t
Just not worth it, just have fun.

Completely agree! AT the end of the day ,chess is a game and the main goal is to enjoy it. Unless you're trying to go proffessional chasing Elo can quicly turn a fun hobby into a stresfull job.Having fun is what matters most!

Ειναι θεμα γοητρου και εγωισμου..Οπως καθε αθλητης θελει ναχει διακρισεις ετσι και εδω, το ελο αποτελει μια διακριση, που ξεχωριζει τους δυνατους απο τους αδυνατους παικτες..και αυτο ισως δινει ενα κινητρο να προσπαθουν μερικοι λιγο παραπανω..

People who enjoy the process of getting good, analysing and training, to see their strength improve find it fun to be at high elo :P

Blitz/bullet gets easier but classical gets more draining (in elite tournaments they have only one game per day with rest days). Personally trying to find some sort of elegance in chess has been a big motivator, but at times it feels like in impossible goal because so many games are still decided by blunders or smaller inaccuracies rather than finding elegant lines.

It's a good observation that it's all up to you do decide what you want to do in your hobbies. Just keep an open mind to learning, it might lead to you enjoying it even more.
