They called me a scammer today.

In a nearby forum thread, a newcomer was arguing a question about the rating, his rating was 1000.
After that, I wrote to one of the participants to talk about the rating. In response, he offered to play a game. I'm 1700, he's 1100. I played the opening of the hippopotamus. He led two pawns in the endgame. I spent a knight and a rook to eliminate these pawns.
Now he called me a scammer and blocked me.
Maybe I don't know how to behave in a game with strangers? Maybe I should have given in to him so that he would rejoice at the victory?

Who is a scammer?

Maybe you are a scammer.
Against someone 600 points lower your statistical win expectancy is 100% but you only reached an endgame two pawns down. Giving up a knight and rook for those two pawns doesn't sound like a good trade either.

These are not just two pawns. These are two queens. I spent more than a minute thinking about how to prevent the transformation? Statistics show that this was the longest move. The rook cannot stop two pawns. I knew it. Therefore, i sacrificed two pieces so that White would not pass. Therefore, I was sure that the blacks would pass. The situation is the same in different corners of the board. Rook versus two passed pawns.

This is the game. He is actually not 2 pawns down but up a knight and 2 pawns. He's talking about whites 2 passed pawns which knows his pieces cannot stop, so he sacs a rook and knight because now white's rook cannot stop black's pawns this time.

To put the rating gap in perspective, it would be like me playing Magnus. Even if he turned into Drunkenstein, I doubt he'd ever make moves like g5 or Kf7. Move first, think later!

If you offer to play a game against someone, you can't be upset if you lose. I did want to ask though, why the hippo?

If you offer to play a game

I proposed to discuss puzzles. He offered to play. I've been playing Hippopotamus for a long time. I played lightly. I didn’t expect that I would make a lot of mistakes myself and win only two pawns. After the surprise, I had to play with all my strength, distract the king, catch the bishop, pin the knight, look for how to prevent promotions and how to promote my pawns.

I was saying HE had no right to be upset if he wanted to play a game against someone higher rated.
