Why do most players refuse a rematch in 1-0 bullet?

I know that this has been discussed before, a satisfactory answer has yet to be given, and previous discussion threads are now archived. I have my suspicions, but I'd like to see what some other opinions are.

In slower games I can get it...perhaps the other player doesn't have enough time, etc. But there is no excuse not to accept a rematch in a 1-0 bullet game. If you had enough time for one game, you can certainly play two. It's especially annoying when you were crushing your opponent for the entire game and they either grease you on time or you make some sort of blunder or mouse-slip to throw the game away. And if a player had the advantage of the white pieces in the first game, it seems like a form of low-key cheating not to accept at least a single rematch.

I'd love to see a new lichess feature implemented whereby players have the option of creating "match" invites. The match length could be as low as 2 games all the way up to say 11 or perhaps more. Then if a player refuses to fulfill the rest of the games in the match, they are forfeited. This would allow players to avoid poor sportsmanship players white pieces only cheaters.

  1. I usually accept bullet rematches but sometimes decline them, not because I don't have enough time, usually, but simply because I want to play against someone else.

  2. That "match" proposal would be an interesting feature to have, however the idea was raised a few times before and nothing came of it.

  3. I don't get how refusing a rematch as Black counts as cheating.

  1. That isn't an answer. That's circuitous (false) reasoning.
  2. What difference does it make that the idea was raised before? It's being raised now.
  3. Of course you don't get how playing chess with an unfair advantage is cheating. You're a cheater yourself!

atp just accept that you want a rematch because you lost.

No, actually I offer a rematch regardless of whether I win or lose. It's just that it's extra annoying when I lose a game I was winning and the other guy had the white pieces, as I already clearly indicated.

Perhaps you should just accept the fact that you're not capable of reading and comprehending simple English. You're just a troll with nothing better to do than try to provoke people.

And I can see why you don't play bullet at all. You would be forced to use your own brain in bullet, because you wouldn't have enough time to relay the moves back and forth from another device, which is what you do in the other time controls

  1. What IS actually false reasoning is the implied assumption that not wanting to play against the same opponent again is not a valid reason for refusing rematches. No-one is obliged to accept a rematch really.

  2. The difference is that this proposal will be ignored by the developers again.

  3. By that logic you and everyone who declines a rematch is a cheater. Like that?

@SpeciaI-Ed

Accusing others of cheating is against the ToS. I reported you.

I am genuinly happy that you consider me an engine. Ease your work and report me for cheating too: https://lichess.org/report

I don't consider you an engine. That's like saying I consider water to be wet :) You 100% ARE an engine. And that is precisely why you don't play bullet chess!

I have better things to do than run around reporting people. That's the kind of thing someone like you does.
