Do you think kid mode should have this feature?

So imagine your parents calling you to do something while you are playing bullet. They say to come here or They will close the account. But if you resign, for the 8th consecutive time,(your parents called you 8 times before) You will be called as a sandbagger and be banned. But there is a way. If you made a button where it makes the game unlimited time for 1 turn, You won't be called out.

It's quite rude to your opponents to start games when you can expect to be called away every minute or two.

The feature you propose sounds quite absurd. If someone starts a game, they have certain expectation about its length; for a bullet game the expected duration is rather short. And then suddenly, in the middle of the game their opponent suspends the game for "unlimited time" and they have to wait... indefinitely. Seriously?

Whenever you want to complain about the rules or propose a change like this, you should start by imagining yourself on the other side and think seriously how would you feel if the other person behaved the way you want to (or feel entitled to behave).

Not for the whole game, one move only.

What is the difference? A player knows he has 5 minutes free so he starts a 2+0 game, knowing it won't take more than 4 minutes to finish; and then, in the middle of it, the opponents suspends it for 5 minutes because his/her parent called him/her? Not to mention that the feature could be even abused to gain more time to calculate in a critical position.

Then you lose the game (and resigning is preferrable to letting your time run out). If it happens only once in a while, it's not a problem. If it keeps happening on a regular basis - which is what your initial comment seems to imply - you should not start games unless you know you can be reasonably sure you can finish them.

Please read my previous comments more carefully. I explicitly said that if you have to expect you may not be able to finish the game, you should not start it. It's a big difference between it being a rare incident that happens once in three months and it happening frequently.

What about 3 days?

I 100% agree with you.
Just to play devil's advocate, one may argue that a kid may have not the maturity to do your (correct) reasoning.

Nevertheless, IMHO consequences (light as a simple warning or cool down are) should be there to teach him ASAP.
