We will deploy a speculative change that could resolve this soon. But assuming it does not, we could use some info.
If you have witnessed this issue, please provide the following information in a short reply to this thread:
- your browser and version (firefox 142)
- your operating system (windows, mac, android, ios, linux)
- your desktop or laptop GPU (if you have one and happen to know what kind, mobile users just ignore)
And don't take it personal if a reply gets deleted because it doesn't have that info.

Hi, I am running Firefox 142 for Linux Mint 21.3, on an HP laptop. I do not see the need to cheat with a Graphics Processing Unit nor is the one on my system.

True, but the implication is there.

I don't see any implication like that in the initial comment. The question about GPU is completely natural as the issue seems to hit only specific users and finding out what distinguishes their systems from those where it does not happen can be very helpful in solving the problem.

We're now experimenting with a different way to load pieces (individual SVG files). If you (still) have missing pieces, or if you did but now it's fixed, please report here with the following info:
- your browser and version (firefox 142)
- your operating system (windows, mac, android, ios, linux)
- your desktop or laptop GPU (if you have one and happen to know what kind, mobile users just ignore)

Thank you for an opportunity to practice my patience and diplomacy.
What "happened" exactly? What's your browser and version? What's your operating system? What's your desktop or laptop GPU?

Some time yesterday, I started a game and all of the pieces were invisible. I changed the piece set and the pieces appeared- no other issues yesterday.
I played a game today with no issues during, but was unable to analyze the game after- the pieces were visible in the final position but the buttons to move through the game were missing, as well as the move list and the engine options. Also, if I open an analysis board currently, the pieces are not visible nor any of the other usual options from that page, there is only an empty chessboard.
Firefox version 142.0.1 (64-bit) (if I switch to Chrome, everything works normally)
Windows 11 OS
AMD Radeon RX 6800S (laptop GPU)
Thank you for all you do for the chess community

I use the fedora 43 and Firefox 142.0.1 (flatpak) and I'm unable to play, the board show empty and the analysis board doesn't work.
