What football game are you particularly looking forward to watching?

When I say "football" I am not trying to confine the question to the football that uses almost only actual feet. But I will confine my answer to that. Others may differ, and talk about the "other" football. And that's fine with me.

But here's my own answer. There are two answers, actually.

Coming up soon: Liverpool vs. Man City. Oh, a must watch if ever there was one. It will be time to unleash the hounds! A time for Liverpool's players and management to shine we hope them to shine!

However, let me be clear: I am not suggesting a wager, and offer no prediction, either way.

And also on the hit parade of matches to watch: Liverpool vs. Leeds.

What's up with Leeds? Noflaps is experiencing sadness because Leeds is doing quite well. I don't mind if they do well, of course. But not THIS well.

The sadness began with an earlier friendly. But it's drawn on for longer than Noflaps hoped.

Oh, and Brighton is not helping Noflaps's feelings, either.

Being able to play in Europe next year is a nice thing to achieve. I hope Liverpool achieves it, and it isn't spoiled by "certain clubs."

POST SCRIPT: Oh, and critics of any of the Liverpool players from Alisson through Wirtz (I think that's the alphabetical gamut), can kiss my grits. (Grits are a comfort food, in case you've never actually seen them).

Each player is a treasure.

I always take Brazil seriously, friend.

Whatever else one may say about Brazil (and much of it is good), Brazil knows football.

Although in South America, I will always be rooting for Uruguay.

Even against wonderful Japan, on Thursday, I believe.

Admittedly, it's close.

Actually, I really like Japan.

But Uruguay was there at the beginning of the World Cup, for goodness sakes!

So Uruguay deserves some respect! Uruguay is a "Founding Father" of football. So to speak.

Although the grandfather is obviously England.

I am not educating everyone here, of course. Some already understand. Completely.

I'm beginning to wonder if there are enough football fans at Lichess.

This thread has proven to be rather unproductive of responses. Should I have made it about knitting, instead? Or perhaps flower arrangements?

No, let others consume beans. At the moment, I'm making coffee.

Klopp's first game as head coach of the German national team was something all eyes were on, him taking over is a big thing here. We're all waiting for the Messiah that will save our football and hoping it's him, expectations are huge. Of course, he's only just getting started and there is lots of work to be done but that 1 - 1 last night against the Netherlands in the Nations League was pretty entertaining and we saw some interesting new players, Greece is next on Sunday and public interest will be just as big as with the first game.

Like @The_Merry_Chesster, I'm currently curious about Nation League, despite it's a competition that doesn't have my affection, but notably, I want to see how Zidane will start with France. Apparently, the tactic will be a 4-3-3 similar to his idea with Madrid. Mbappé at the Left, Dembélé in the Center as a false 9, Olise at the Right. Cherki as an offensive midfielder, Rabiot-Koné to build in the midfield. Saliba is injured so, the defense will likely be composed by Upamecano and Lacroix. The surprise will be Diouf as a LB, like he's used to play in Inter, and as always, Koundé on the other side.

Oh yeah, it was also Xavi's debut last night as head coach of the Oranje team. He's in a different position compared to Klopp or Zidane because, while almost everyone was screaming for those two to take over (I'm assuming pretty much everyone wanted Zidane to do it, @CSKA_Moscou ?), Xavi wasn't the first or even second choice and it's rare for the Netherlands to have a foreign coach as well so, it will be interesting to see how he'll be getting on. I thought the Dutch played well last night and their disallowed goal was a close call, I guess it could have counted and they would have won so it wasn't a bad start for him.

On this Thanksgiving, Lucy, finally will not prevent the kickoff. Charlie Brown has arranged for an AI android to step in for him and kick the football before Lucy can pull it away from his foot.
