Where did everyone go?

So I've just started talking more and saw that the only one that (I remember) was here before was @noflaps (Who is the best forum poster) I was here for @kindpandas down fall, I left like a month after that I think. But where did everyone else go after? (I'm not trying to bring her back, I'm just genuinely trying to understand what I missed)

Right now it just seems like a whole new generation has moved in lol.

I've been here for 2 ish years, I wasn't into forums for a bit then started talking more. I then was posting in almost every forum, I knew a lot of the times "famous" people. But I took a break from chess entirely for about half a year dealing with some mental and physical injury's. So I've just started talking more and saw that the only one that (I remember) was here before was @noflaps (Who is the best forum poster) I was here for @kindpandas down fall, I left like a month after that I think. you could do a search for the users you’re wondering about.

That's what I mean, they are all gone, GVCM, Agent_panda, all of them, our DMs are gone, there accounts are gone. (like closed) So I was just wondering if they said a goodbye or smth.

i don’t recall seeing gvcm and agent panda. sometimes they say good bye.

i see new people in here all the time.

there’s a lot of regular posters, too.

i know the forums can be searched. not sure if putting in a user name would work as a search.

Well you're referring to no more than 2 people right now...

Panda brings herself back without asking anyway. Sigh!

Pushy was banned for a while, but is restored now, so he could come back too

lol, Those are the only 2 people I could remember. There was quite a few others, but they seemed to have just been banned. So I was wondering if there was a big event or smth I missed

Thank you for your very kind post, @farmerethan75 .

There are many excellent posters who have been here longer than I.

There are some who push wood, some named after dogs, some who even have internet names that I cannot actually explain -- but they no doubt have some worthy (if hidden) significance!

I would feel honored to be mentioned in the same sentence with any of them -- even those who routinely disagree with me! And I appreciate your own presence, as well.

Unfortunately it seems that many have stepped away from posting, probably due to many topics being nonsense that can't really be interacted with in any meaningful way, i mean theres some topics posted that are bordering on spam but somehow end up with about seven pages of replies from sometimes, but not always, the very folk who talk about the lack of decent topics on here.
Sometimes there are good topics here but hardly anyone engages with them for some reason, and so here we are as a result, its a shame really because it could be so much better here.
I wouldn't be surprised if the off topic forums days are numbered to be honest, i don't want that to happen of course, but i think alot of others likely think the same thing. :)
