Lose games suddenly without checkmate nor time that run out

Sometimes i play online rated. And suddenly, even when i am not in a checkmate nor run out of time, i suddenly lose.

Why is that the case? Is there some other mechanism you can lose in chess? Or is this a bug lichess?

And no, i did not resin.

It clearly says, you left the game. Probably you lost connection the the lichess server.

Thank you for your answer

But i still had time left. Shouldn't it wait till time runs out before i lost?

And this happens a lot, why/how does it lose connection? (I play on android app).

No, it shouldn't. Losing connection is considered like leaving the playing venue in a real world game. In both cases you lose before your clock flag falls.

I don't know.

Is there a game mode where someone can't lose on a disconnect, as long as they have time left?

Correspondence chess.

Based on the moves times, you were disconnected (or at least didn't move) for over 2 minutes before you lost the blitz game, and over a minute in the rapid game.

Since you play on mobile: I think switching out of the app is also considered leaving the game.

Ok, thank you, that explains a lot.
