¡Bueno hecho! Really thought provoking! I didn’t even think about it that way until now, but I now know how these guys have been manipulating the chess world.
Waiting till the conference.

Deep research with good intentions. Unfortunately there's a flaw in the foundation.
"Volenti no fit iniuria" - "No harm happens to the willing" is wisdom from ancient Romans.
Beting is not always gambling and mature people should have their dignity and freedom to do whatever, wich not harm others, with the fruits of their labour.

That was an informative read, thank you.
Gambling is fine, as long as nobody is forced to gamble!
Everyone makes his/her own decisions in life.
Well that’s right, but we should keep giving attention to this trifle because we don’t know when it will come true.

Interesting motto. But we aren't living in Roman times anymore.
The Romans could never have imagined a world where millions of dollars are spent on psychological tactics to induce people to gamble like paying celebrities to promote gambling. Millions of dollars are also spent on 'ads' which also deliberately target vulnerable groups.
Ads are designed to cause brainrot to happen and induce people to do/buy things by trying to associate the product with good feelings through flashy imagery. Also through peer pressure, by causing people to feel that they're missing out on something which other people have/do.
Consider the fact that most ads never rationally explain the products but instead do all the things listed above.
All psychological manipulation.

Yes, people's dignity should not be infringed by immersing them in a world where gambling companies seek to exploit people.

Thank you for highlighting this. Will have to pay attention to the ICE conference in a few weeks... I cannot figure out for the life of me what it's about. The press release left me confused.
I called it a 'conference' in the blog, but actually it's an exhibition.
https://boothexhibits.com/blog/trade-shows/ice-barcelona/
The ICE Exhibition is where different people/companies from the gaming and gambling industries meet. There will be exhibition stands from various companies in a giant building. Their site says it's for product launches/regulatory updates and networking opportunities.
https://www.icegaming.com/about-ice/floorplan
Betby will be there as one of the exhibitions to promote their new chess gambling setup (allowing 24/7 on chess engines games, and also adding more options to gamble on).
Carlsen, Nakamura and Rozman are at the exhbition because Betby wants to bring more attention to the event. Having the three brand kings show up is a way to achieve that as it will have more news coverage and attract attention from people who are fans and the chess world in general (with the aim of getting them to become gamblers and make profit out of them).
The attendees will be 'able to experience BETBY’s new chess innovations — including its 24/7 live content ecosystem — first-hand at stand 5K20'. So they are also demoing their new chess gambling setup at the event (with Carlsen, Nakamura and Rozman standing right there in person).
I edited the blog to clarify that it's an exhibition and added more details.

It is a threat to the chess world because there may be match fixing and other unfair means to change results in favour of gambling companies, which will be a shame for the chess community.

Not being forced is a pretty low bar for anything, lol. "Gambling should exist, because nobody is forced to do it". Let's allow people to fly in broken airplanes. Hey, nobody forced them to do it :O Or how about legalizing payday loans again? I mean, if anyone signs them, it's their own fault, right?
NOPE!!
The problem with your statement is, that "stupid" humans deserve protection from harm too ^^ Though smart, educated people are affected just as well. There are so many predictable, well-researched patterns humans can't overcome, like addiction, impulsivity, chasing losses, financial desperation, misleading odds/marketing, ... that humans are guaranteed to fall into with a certain likelihood. And can't get out of. Just like you can't force yourself to quit sugar/alcohol/smoking. Private gambling companies exploit this in the most DISGUSTING ways for profit. The harm is absolutely incomparable to any "personal freedom".
At best one could say that well-regulated, fair, non-profit gambling without predatory advertising might be an idea. But honestly, I would be against that too, as this would cause people to gamble in worse conditions in other countries. I'm even skeptical of gambling without cash, since it still encourages gambling in worse conditions.
The kind of defensible thing for Carlsen would have been to ask Norway for state-regulated chess gambling, with profits going to the chess communnity. But cooperating with private gambling companies? Oh. my. Goat.
