World Championship of Titled Arena Announcement

chess.com already renamed their “world chess.com championship” the “chess.com global championship” so Lichess can name this something more sane like the “Lichess intergalactic championship.”

Lichess, you're really going through with this? I thought the response to the initial announcement would have knocked some sense into your head. Try listening.

When a real World Championship is set up, there are first some kind of qualifying rounds. They go on until one challenger is left. That person sits down for a one-on-one match with the reigning World Champion.

This makes the title of World Champion meaningless. Why would you do that?

All I want to know is this- If I win, am I the new world champion?
