Chess is not lifeless. Far from it.

I speak for myself but often get outvoted by her who must be obeyed so in the end although I think I speak for my self I clearly do not.

It's like those people who say "Science says that..."

I have to agree - science is one of two:

1. Theories that are evidence-based.
2. Theories that are not.

I guess Neimann that big fat cheater, was saying that when deciding a chess player's merits you should only consider the moves that they played and not any other factors such as they were getting help from engines or people. It's a rather self serving statement.
