It's not about the chessconnect app, it's about the lichess api. I'm not sure about the cheat detected in that case but it's clearly against the rules.

I can confirm that if he doesn't use an app that makes use of the official API then his entire account could be flagged. Chessconnect is compliant, official chessnut app isn't. However I don't think lichess will single out a particular game. I think they just nuke the account, as they did in my case before it was overturned.
