That is because there aren’t enough teachers, and the Tibetan language is hard to use outside of Tibet/Xizang. Chinese language schooling allows them to get better opportunities in the Eastern cities.
When I wrote China's hypocrisy, it is for things like this. I have been body search only once before viewing a documentary in which we could see Tibetans. To protect the life of Tibetans appearing in the documentary the staff wanted to avoid anyone recording anything helping China identifying them or their siblings.

It’s common practice to protect anonymous subjects. Also, that’s laughably incompetent if they really wanted to prevent anyone from recording it.
From a Chinese non-governmental organization comes this report. Since you seem to adore the UN, you might attach some importance to it.

Why is China set to approve a new law promoting 'ethnic unity'?
For decades the Chinese government has been accused of implementing repressive policies designed to subjugate ethnic minorities, forcing them to assimilate into the dominant Han culture.
Now a new law set to be rubber-stamped through the country's annual parliamentary session later this week will solidify, expand and even speed up this process, further threatening the rights of minority groups and their way of life, academics and human rights activists say.
The Chinese government, however, defends it as crucial for promoting "modernisation through greater unity" and calls it the law for "Promoting Ethnic Unity and Progress".
It lowers the status of other languages at the expense of Mandarin; encourages intermarriage between the dominant Han Chinese and other ethnicities by prohibiting moves to restrict this; requires parents to "educate and guide minors to love the Chinese Communist Party"; and, in a sweeping generalisation, prohibits any acts seen as damaging to "ethnic unity".

Because someone wrote this:
Agreed. Have you heard of the language purification thing in France? You can be fined if you say “airplane” instead of “avion”.

Please read better. I did not say it’s a report from the UN.
“From a Chinese non-governmental organization comes this report”
It’s sent to the Human Rights Council
why is it relevant to strawman pretending I adore the UN ???
Because seemingly everything you quote comes out of the UN
Lol
I can tell that’s probably not a real laugh, or it might be your bizarre sense of humor. Who knows

Sorry. I wrote something and someone got triggered.
Because someone wrote this:

No? It’s because someone went on a rant about China, how it is “hypocritical” and how I have no right to criticize the French language purification efforts because I come from China.

Why do you feel compelled to use the word purification ? Anybody else living in Europe think France is doing "language purification" ?
Also when you wrote you in
You can be fined if you say “airplane” instead of “avion”.
you were implying it could be anybody here living in France while the you is actually a corporation, a business.
