Sometimes it's satisfying to see the game play out after someone resigns. It would be cool to be able to push a button and have the engine complete the rest of the best moves on both sides in slow motion, to see the game play out. It would be satisfying rather than having to move the pieces manually in analysis mode.
Btw I know you guys love to downvote ideas, so lets see how many downvotes I can get :D

Could be frustrating to see how the engine turns around even the most won games.

With some effort you could "play against the computer" from the final position.

Does "play against the computer" handle stockfish vs. stockfish? I think OP meant computer vs. computer to finish the game

Correct, just the satisfaction of seeing the checkmate play out when the opponent resigns early, which happens in most of my games that I'm ahead 8+ points in.

Playing engine vs engine is exactly what the engine does when it calculates the best line. Just enable it, wait few seconds for the line to stabilize, click 3-4 moves ahead (or on the last move if you want it faster and not necessarily so precise) and repeat.

you're right @mkubecek , that's pretty neat and easy actually

and devastating to your self-esteem when the engine manages to swindle many of those positions against you..

I think I got it working , but I have to click through the moves, would be cool to have a "play till checkmate" button and have it slowly animated.

Pressing the spacebar is a shortcut for "play the engine's top move" in analysis mode. You could also just press the spacebar a bunch of times.
If you hold the spacebar, it will play around 1 move per second. That's even easier if that's a good speed for you.
