Restrict leaderboards by account age

I think accounts should at least be one month old to be allowed on the leaderboards. I'm tired of smurf accounts that claim a spot in Top 100 / Top 50 / ... within just a day or so. They're highly unsportsmanlike, noone is supposed to have more than one spot on the boards, and prohibiting new accounts will largely reduce the incentive to make them.

As per my knowledge , an account must atleast be a week old to appear in the leader board / get a trophy

Actually not. I checked the Atomic Top 50 list and already found an account that is only four days old.

I thought there was already code to disable having multiple accounts on the leaderboard... perhaps not, I guess.

Isn't a smurf someone who deliberately loses games? How would a loser appear on the leaderboard?

@Toadofsky maybe depends on Lichess' ability to recognize alt accounts? I assume Lichess doesn't run checks on all the millions of users at once?

And smurf accounts are by definition secondary accounts of very good players created to just "have some fun" or "speedrun". They can use 1/2+0 to boost their rating beyond their original rating because rating deviation won't adapt fast enough ...

Completely true! It feels like every second player I play against has an account that is not even a week old.

Incorrect, that's the definition of an alternate (alt) account. Smurf has a different definition:

(Internet slang) An alternative computer account used by a known or experienced user in order to deceptively self-present as someone naïve or less experienced.
