Subject: Request to extend AIDEF “24 Hours Blitz of the Francophonie” arena to 24 hours

Hello,

I am writing on behalf of the Francophone Chess Association (AIDEF), which organizes every year the online event “24 Hours of Blitz of the Francophonie” on Lichess, to celebrate the International Day of La Francophonie (20 March).

The tournament is a 24-hour arena marathon played at the time control 3+2, open to all players worldwide. The concept is that players can join and leave at any moment during the 24 hours.

This event has already been organized several times on Lichess, with great success. For example, in 2024 more than 300 players participated, which was a record participation for the event.

Unfortunately, when creating the arena on Lichess, the maximum duration available is 12 hours, while our event must last 24 hours. In previous years, the Lichess team kindly extended the tournament manually to 24 hours.

Our tournament is scheduled in about 10 days, and we would be very grateful if the team could again extend the arena duration to 24 hours.
